Following the release of Edelman’s recent 7-market study, “Privacy & Security: The New Drivers of Brand, Reputation and Action.” Richard Sambrook talks to Ben Boyd, Edelman’s Global Chair of the Corporate practice on the findings. This is followed by a discussion with Jethro Grassie, Technical Director of the Digital practice, and Zoe Laycock, Associate Director, on personal and corporate data security.
Jethro and Zoe discuss the recently passed EU Cookie Law, and the UK’s Data Protection Act and how these have affected businesses, and what we are currently advising our clients. They deliberate who should be responsible for the personal data collected, and what data is actually necessary. With the security enviornment changing so quickly, especially with the growth of mobile internet and apps, what measures should you take to protect yourself?
Edelman’s “Privacy & Security: The New Drivers of Brand, Reputation and Action” reveals a relationship between effective data protection and business success and shows that data security and privacy considerations do impact purchasing decisions.
