Racism in Football

Stefan Stern, Director of Strategy at Edelman is joined by Earl Barrett, Mentoring and Project Leadership Manager for the “Kick it Out” campaign, which aims to tackle the problem of discrimination in football.
Kick It Out works throughout the football, educational and community sectors to challenge discrimination encourage inclusive practices and work for positive change.
The campaign is supported and funded by the game’s governing bodies, including founding body the Professional Footballers Association (PFA), the Premier League and The Football Association.

Speaker Chair: Stefan Stern, Director of Strategy, Edelman
Stefan has been writing and commenting on business and management for the past two decades. He wrote the Financial Times’s management column for over four years before joining Edelman in August 2010 as its new Director of Strategy. In October he was appointed Visiting Professor in management practice at the Cass business school.
Speaker Earl Barrett, Mentoring and Project Leadership Manager, Kick It Out. Ex-England international, Premier League runner-up, and League Cup medalist with Aston Villa. Earl has also played football for Manchester City, Oldham Athletic, Everton and Sheffield Wednesday. He retired from professional football in 2000 and went on to gain a Degree from the Manchester Metropolitan University, in Coaching with Sport and Exercise Science along with completing his UEFA coaching badges. Earl is also currently a coach at Stoke City’s Football Academy.
